Funeral services celebrating the life of Joe E. Poyner of Star Harbor on Cedar Creek Lake are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 13th at the Tomlinson Funeral Home Chapel in Seven Points with Gary Dement officiating. Burial will be in King Cemetery near Seven Points. Mr. Poyner passed away Saturday at his residence. He was born June 22, 1942 in Lampasas, Texas to Ernest Eldon and Opal Arlen Poyner. He graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor's Degree and worked as a Communications Coordinator for Texas Instruments. His most loved hobby was his music and singing, especially singing in Gospel Quartets in the Dallas area. He is survived by his wife Mary Poyner of Star Harbor, daughter Deborah Poyner of New Jersey, son Robert Perry Ramsey of Plano, brother Richard Poyner and his wife Betty of Tyler, nephew Rick Poyner of Jefferson, Louisiana, aunt Mary Easterwood of Lampasas and his dearly loved extended family.
